The Band AGM was held on wednesday and saw a number of changes within the band. Mike Tilley has chosen to step down as has
Chris Shapcott and Rex Lathem, resulting in a new look committee. It is as follows: Chairman Dan Page; Secretary Anna Ingman;
Treasurer Steve Evanson; Librarian Rob Stevenson; Young Persons Rep Scott Sherwin; Members Mike Tilley, Katie Simpson, Karen Calder,
Mike Tilley; MD Stewart Thompson. We also would like to welcome Eric Culbert back on 2nd oboe following a change in work patterns.
Welcome back!

Sorry about a lack of updates caused by lack of time due to illness and work but we are back on track at last!
The back end of 2004 saw the band take 2nd place at the Biddulph contest, its first appaerance at a contest in 15 years
and we were delighted to take 2nd place on Slaughter on 10th Avenue. We also had the regular charity concert at the Civic in november
and then moved into the christmas season. This was a slightly unsettled time for the band as Stewart was forced to stand down for a
month due to ill health. This saw Chris Thompson swap his trombone for the baton for the NUR Club job before handing over to Vicky Wood
returning to the band again for the St Mary's Concert. This was the conducting debut for both of them and they accquited themselves excellently.
Martin Robinson also helped out by a witty and polished comparing turn at St Mary's, thanks Martin. Stewart returned in january and we are now
building up for the start of the year with a new look concert programme for the summer.
We also would like to welcome our new members, you can find them on the personel page.

SeptemberThe band is currently preparing for the Biddulph contest and the charity concert
at full pace and would like to welcome on board Margery Yates on 1st clarinet for these events. We are hoping we can bring her some sucess.
On a sad note we have bid a temporary farewell to Alun and Betty Thomas. Due to an accident they are unable to make the long trip from
Wrexham at the moment but we hope to see them again in the future and send all our best wishes to them.
Following on from our performance at Crewe Square we have welcomed another new face to
the band in the form of Miriam on horn. A warm welcome to her from us all. If this carries on we're going to
have to extend the bandroom!

Our recent visit to Whitchurch saw the heavens open yet again but thankfully we were able
to take shelter in the Civic Centre where we gave a well appreciated concert to a very friendly auidience. Also
many thanks to the WI for stepping in to sort out the tea and coffee at the last minute when nobody turned up to
to it!!!!!
We would also like to welcome several new players to the band, Ken, Brenda and Hermione are have recently joined the band and there are
more new victims on the way! We hope they have a long and sucessful time with the band, plus plenty of fun.

We tried and failed! Yet again our efforts to play on Nantwich Square met with the rain and unfortunately we had to call saturdays concert off!
However we will be playing at Whitchurch in a months time. See you then!

June The band has taken the decision to enter its first contest in many years and can now confirm its entry to the
Biddulph Music Festival on 2nd October this year. Work has already begun on the selected piece and everyone is looking
forward to the challenge!
The band has also adjusted the committee following the recent AGM, with Steve Evanson accepting the post of treasurer
and Anna Ingman moving to become the new librarian. Thanks to both of you for accepting the posts.

May Well its been a while but we're back up to date! Last sunday saw our joint concert with Crewe Male Voice Choir under
the baton of Jenny Collis-Smith for Nantwich Town Council. A packed Civic Hall was treated to the band and choir giving their all, with the band
performing several new concert items prepared especially for the evening. The hihlight of the bands performance had to be Les Miserables
recieving a raptorous reception, with the auidience going wild! The evening went on to end with a traditional proms sequence, the first time th band
has ever taken part in such a thing and it was a fabulous end to a wonderful evening.
Three weeks before this, the band ventured abroad to Germany for the much-anticipated tour. The result was a phenominal sucess with the entire party
in full agreement that it was a wonderful trip. The two concerts were performed in Boppard Bandstand, right by the Rhine, and the beautiful Kurhaus in Bad
Schwalbach, one of the most amazing venues the band has had the privilige to perform in. A full report will be on its way shortly.
Finally we held the annual AGM last wednesday, and the current committee was re-elected with the exception of Dave Williams who felt that due to work commitments
he could no longer continue in his role as treasurer. Until a new incumbant is elected Dave has offered to carry on in a temporary capacity and we would like to
thank him for all his hard work over the last two years in ensuring the financial stability of the band.

March The band has had three recent pieces of good news, firstly the award of a £650 grant
from the town council towards the running of the band, and secondly our 1st cornet player Hayley has given birth
to her second son, Rhys Daniel Pitman. Our congratulations to Hayley and partner Dan and I'm sure little
Daniel will be appearing at band events in the future. Finally ex-member Rob Stevenson had agreed to help out on tour filling the empty cornet chair we had so thanks Rob
and its great to see you back
